About Anahata Giri

Anahata's love of yoga and meditation has spanned 23 years and she has been teaching since 2003. In her first yoga class at nineteen, she knew she had found ‘home’. Anahata offers an integrated approach to not only bring life to the body, heart and mind but to bring us home to our innate wholeness.

Her approach to asana and flowing movement is both dynamic and mindful and explores embodiment, the breath and natural alignment principles. Her classes also explore pranayama, chanting, philosophy and meditation. She uses all techniques to explore the heart of yoga as an intimate embrace with life as it is in the moment.  When we bring our awareness to the full presence of each moment, then a deep ease and inspiration naturally arises.

She is dedicated to yoga as an open, unlimited path that students discover for themselves. The deepest yoga path we can walk is to live our yoga and meditation practice in our daily life. Anahata's classes emphasis ways to integrate our practice into our daily lives. Then our yoga is authentic, real and life-changing.

Anahata is grateful for all the yoga teachers that have inspired her, especially: Paul Wooden, Prahlad from The Yoga Arts Academy, Dr. Nagaraj from India and Diane Long, long-term student of Vanda Scaravelli. For spiritual inspiration she is grateful to: Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma). Anahata is currently furthering her studies in Yoga Therapy. She is a member and a Victorian Representative of Yoga Australia.
